Arrived in Bangkok after a one night stay in Dubai. Amazing city Dubai, not a backpackers choice, but very impressive. Only stayed there one night because it was a good opportunity to know the city, and visit some friends. Parar con locales me dio un poco de info de como se vive en la ciudad. "In one day we might go to ski in the morning, skuba diving by midday, and go to the dessert in the afternoon."
There is a voucher system on every single restaurant that locals get in order to afford living the expensive life they want to live. Affording Audi TT's and houses with great sea (or dessert) views.
Loved the buildings, specially the very high ones, cause they reminded me of Mom. She would have been gawking from below. It's such a well organized city. Reminded me also a bit of Miami and those very wide spaces. Would like to maybe spend one day. But just one or two. No more. Definitely not a place I would live. At least not by myself.
It's a good place to visit with locals. I don't know if I would have gone there having not had friends there. It's a place not to be alone.
